Music Prodigy is the developer and publisher of Rock Prodigy

Music Prodigy is changing Music Education through its patent-pending technology and proprietary teaching method that enables any aspiring musician to learn any instrument, at any level of expertise, anywhere a mobile device can reach.

Music Prodigy gets you playing the right notes at the right times along to some of the world’s greatest artists within minutes. Music Prodigy does not replace traditional music education, but makes the experience of learning an instrument fun, rewarding and social, affordable and accessible.

Rock Prodigy, the company’s first in a series of interactive music products, enables fans to learn their favorite songs directly from the artists themselves like never before.

Our Mission

Music Prodigy’s core mission is simple: we will make more music by making more musicians.

We are a bunch of music pros with a passion for playing. We understand musicians because we are musicians – recording artists, touring guitarists, composers, instructors, audio engineers, software developers, a technology Ph.D. professor, Grammy winners, beginners, hobbyists, collectors, classically trained, jazz trained, and so on.

We are based out of Los Angeles, California, and meld global expertise located in Europe, Asia, India, and even the San Fernando Valley!

Unlike the broader Music Industry, which has distinct transformations due to truly disruptive technologies (e.g., vinyl, magnetic tape, Sony Walkman, Alesis ADAT, Digidesign Pro Tools, Apple iTunes, etc.), the tools of the Music Education industry have remained fundamentally the same since the Dark Ages, when monks invented neumes and sheet music.

Learning music with traditional tools can be difficult and take a long time. It leaves too many music hopefuls turned off to the process. We believe the world to be a better place with more people playing music! Aspiring musicians need a way to make learning music easier, faster, and fun.

Music Prodigy will make Music Education as ubiquitous as a mobile phone, as fun and social as a video game, and as inspiring as private lessons from the world’s greatest artists.

About the Rock Prodigy method

Rock Prodigy® is your mobile instructor that works with any real guitar.

Use it to learn guitar and songs faster than ever. Follow the Rock Prodigy lesson plan to take you from beginner to pro.

Rock Prodigy listens to your guitar, shows you what to play, and gives you points for hitting the right notes:

  • Use any real guitar
  • Learn real skills
  • Learn single notes and chords
  • Learn advanced techniques such as bends, slides, and alternate tunings

Here’s why it works and why Rock Prodigy is unique:

  • HEAR the original master tracks from famous artists
  • SEE how to produce the sound the you are hearing
  • LEARN in real-time with instantaneous results

It’s like having an instructor listen to you and give you “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” with every note played.

Getting started with Rock Prodigy:

  1. Use a real guitar: acoustic or electric
  2. Connect your guitar to your iOS device (iPad, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G or later)
  3. Tune your guitar (Rock Prodigy includes a built-in tuner)

About the Rock Prodigy Team

Rock Prodigy is unlike any other guitar app you’ll find today. It’s not a game. It’s not a toy. We want you to tune your guitar. And we want you to develop fingertip callouses. And we built it that way!

We are a bunch of music industry pros with a passion for playing guitar. We understand guitar players because we are guitar players… Guitar players that are also recording artists, touring guitarists, composers, instructors, audio engineers, software developers, a technology Ph.D. professor, a Grammy-winning producer, beginners, hobbyists, collectors, classically trained, jazz trained, and so on.

We love playing guitar.

We also know that sometimes learning and practicing guitar is hard, boring and takes too long. Guitarists need a killer app that makes learning guitar and songs easier, more fun, and quicker. So we created Rock Prodigy.

We are based out of Los Angeles, California but have developed Rock Prodigy with the input of experts located in Europe, Asia, India, and even the San Fernando Valley (ha ha!). While the Rock Prodigy app has been in R&D for a few years, the Rock Prodigy concept is really the culmination of decades of technology and research, guitar and music performance and instruction, label A&R, artist management, centuries of music theory, and countless hours of obsessing over getting riffs exactly right.

All-Star Team Work.

Seismic Games has been a great development partner. They have big-studio gaming experience with the essential agile entrepreneurial edge. They have their own cool music app iCaroler, and they’re led by performing musicians (one of ‘em can even hit a low D-38!). Seismic really built an awesome app for us. After working closely with them since 2010, it just reinforces our belief that when the right people work together, great things can happen: “The sum is greater than the parts.” Check them out at: seismicgames.com.

We love playing Rock Prodigy.

And we want to make Rock Prodigy an indispensable tool in your guitar journey. If you just want to learn guitar in the comfort of your bedroom, cool. If you are enrolled in a rigorous music conservatory program, excellent. If you need to brush up on chops for your weekend cover gig, great. We want you to use Rock Prodigy how it suits you. We’re committed to improving Rock Prodigy to help you do just that.

Stay plugged in.

Keep in touch. Give us a shout with your comments, feedback and ideas, so we can do whatever we can to make Rock Prodigy help you learn guitar and play the songs you want.

Maximum respect.

The Rock Prodigy Team.
